Most people haven’t heard of Bitcoin and most of those who once did either think it’s dead, for criminals, will never work or [ENTER MISCONCEPTION OF YOUR CHOICE]. When these misconceptions come up, there’s no Bitcoin spokesperson to refute them. There’s only knowledgable Bitcoiners to set the record straight.
Bitcoiner Wisdom
Spreading the word about Bitcoin the right way is a difficult task, but we thought it could also be a lot of fun. So we went ahead and collected some mostly uncontroversial pieces of Bitcoiner wisdom and married them with the classic Bitcoin Logo. The result: 18 unique sticker designs.

Spreading the stickers
At the beginning of June 2020, we printed the designs, started to offer them for purchase in our shop, advertised the listings on our Twitter channel, in the telegram groups of our local Bitcoin Munich Meetup, the community group of German podcast einundzwanzig and via lntxbot’s lightning powered advertising app sats4ads. In a short period of time, Bitcoiners from all around the world purchased sticker packs and started to send photos of stickers they applied in public places. Coincidentally, at the same time the Twitter account BITCOIN STREET ART started to tweet out crowdsourced photos of Bitcoin themed graffiti, stencils and stickers and we submitted some photos of our designs that had been sent to us.

Soon a new idea was born:
„What if we could incentivize people around the world with small bitcoin payments to spread the word about Bitcoin?“
To make it easier for participants to get their hands on the stickers, we published the printable PDFs with an open licence.
Enter: microlancer.io
This was exactly what we were looking for, so we decided to give it a try and wrote this task (published today, July 1st 2020). First, we pledged to pay out 615 SATS from our own purse for every photo of a Bitcoin sticker up to a total of 615.000 SATS. That would be 1.000 photos of our sticker designs…
Crowdfund the distributed #bitcoinstickerswarm
… but funding this on our own would unnecessarily limit the scope of where this could go, so we set up this crowdfunding page. Every Bitcoiner is invited to chip in and fund the microlancers who go out and disseminate the stickers. This way, it could become a self-sustaining cycle.
The goal is to have some fun by bringing like-minded Bitcoiners to work together, showcase the power of the Lightning Network and give a little hint to some unaware souls who are looking for an entrance to the massive rabbit hole that is Bitcoin. Join us!
Update July 2nd 2020: The first bounty of 615 Satoshis has just been paid out and the photos submitted to and tweeted by Bitcoin Street Art.
Update July 7th 2020: The 10th bounty has been paid out, again to a submission from Brighton/UK.
